West Virginia Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse Applauds Legislative Effort on COVID-19 Liability Prote

Charleston, WV — Last week, West Virginia legislative leaders released a very detailed plan for re-opening our state after the COVID-19 quarantine. West Virginia Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse applauds the work by legislative leaders and the Governor’s administration for their effort, especially for their focus on liability protections related to COVID-19.

On page 10 of the report, the group outlines what is needed for long-term recovery. Included in these steps, they recommend the following step: “Enact liability protections for healthcare providers, employers, and all individuals who have been on the front line of combatting COVID-19 and providing critical services to citizens.”

“West Virginia Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse is greatly encouraged to hear this very important recommendation as part of an overall recovery effort for our state. We are looking forward to working with the Governor and legislative leaders to pass legislation as soon as possible on liability protections for our job and healthcare protectors,” said Jordan Burgess, Executive Director of WV CALA.
