WVCALA Applauds Appointment of Dan Greear to Kanawha County Circuit Judgeship

West Virginia Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse (WV CALA) applauds Governor Jim Justice’s appointment of Dan Greear to the 13th Judicial Circuit in Kanawha County, a judgeship vacated by Judge Jim Stucky’s retirement.

“We applaud Governor Jim Justice for selecting Dan Greear to fill this vacancy in one of the busiest judicial circuits in our state. Dan has decades of litigation experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants, which will benefit every litigant that appears before him. West Virginians can be confident that Dan Greear will serve with integrity, impartiality, and uphold the rule of law,” said Roman Stauffer, Executive Director of WV CALA.

The appointment of Greear is an interim appointment, and he will appear as a candidate for the 13th Judicial Circuit in Kanawha County in November. Governor Justice issued a proclamation on May 29th calling for a special election to fill judicial vacancies when there are more than two years left on the office's term.

"We thank Governor Jim Justice and the Judicial Vacancy Advisory Committee for their work on this vacancy. We will be encouraging our grassroots members and Kanawha County voters to support Dan Greear in November," concluded Stauffer.
